Pakistan and Denmark Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation During Fourth Round of Political Consultations.

Islamabad: The fourth round of bilateral political consultations between Pakistan and Denmark was held in Islamabad today, marking a significant step in strengthening the cooperation between the two nations. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both countries, with the Pakistani delegation led by Additional Foreign Secretary Europe Shafqat Ali Khan and the Danish side headed by State Secretary for Foreign Policy Lisbet Zilmer-Johns.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions encompassed a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation, touching upon various facets such as political relations, trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, infrastructure development, and people-to-people contacts. The consultations also included dialogues on important regional and global developments, reflecting the commitment of both countries to work closely on issues of mutual concern.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with the upward trajectory of their bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining momentum in their relations. They emphasized the importance of coordinating closely on all issues of mutual interest, including at multilateral forums. Furthermore, both nations agreed to commemorate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in a fitting manner this year, highlighting the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Denmark.

Additionally, the meeting resulted in a decision to explore new avenues of cooperation in green technologies. This initiative will be pursued under the framework of the Green Framework Engagement Agreement, which was signed in September 2022. This agreement aims to bolster collaboration in sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies, aligning with global efforts to address climate change.

The two countries have also agreed that the next round of Pakistan-Denmark Bilateral Political Consultations will take place in Denmark on dates that will be mutually agreed upon, further cementing the ongoing dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.
