Islamabad: Pakistan and Denmark have reached an agreement to focus on strengthening their bilateral relations, with an emphasis on increasing high-level contacts and exploring new avenues of cooperation. This consensus was reached during a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Minister for SAFRON and Kashmir Affairs, Engineer Amir Muqam, and Denmark’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jakob Linulf.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting covered discussions on the welfare of Afghan refugees and potential areas for enhancing cooperation between the two countries. Engineer Amir Muqam highlighted the significant potential for collaboration, suggesting that both nations could explore joint programs aimed at improving education, healthcare, and vocational training for Afghan refugees.
The Minister also addressed the financial challenges faced by Pakistan in hosting Afghan refugees and acknowledged the generous support provided by the international community. Meanwhile, Ambassador Jakob Linulf expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s recent decision to extend the validity of refugee Proof of Registration cards, underscoring the importance of this move in supporting Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan.
