Pakistan and China Strengthen Ties in Strategic Dialogue in Beijing

Islamabad, In the latest iteration of the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue, held in Beijing, both nations reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic and cooperative partnerships across a variety of sectors. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and his counterpart, Wang Yi, engaged in extensive discussions covering strategic, economic, political, and cultural domains, among others.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides exchanged views on an array of bilateral and global issues, reaching consensus on measures to promote socioeconomic development in their countries and enhance regional peace and prosperity. The dialogue underscored the “All-weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the unbreakable bond and mutual trust that characterize their relationship. Both countries agreed to implement the consensus reached by their leaders to foster even closer community ties in the new era.

China extended congratulations to Pakistan for the conduct of its general elections and expressed support for the new government’s goals to bolster economic development and stability. Pakistan lauded China’s advancements under President Xi Jinping and noted the relevance of China’s development model as a viable pathway for other developing nations.

The discussions also covered cooperation in counter-terrorism, economic projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity and sustainable development. The dialogue also touched on sensitive geopolitical issues, reaffirming mutual support for each other’s core interests, including Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir and China’s policies in Xinjiang and the South China Sea.

Both nations condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Chinese convoy at the Dasu Hydropower Project in Pakistan, highlighting their zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and their commitment to securing projects and personnel involved in bilateral cooperation.
