Pakistan and China Strengthen Ties, Commit to Accelerating CPEC Projects

Islamabad: In a significant diplomatic encounter, Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their strong strategic cooperative partnership, celebrating mutual trust and shared principles during a delegation-level meeting in Islamabad. The meeting, which included discussions between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, underscored the enduring alliance between the two nations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the leaders discussed a broad range of topics concerning bilateral relations along with regional and international issues of mutual interest. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress and strengthening of their partnership, particularly emphasizing the ongoing development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

During their talks, Sharif and Qiang committed to the high-quality execution of CPEC’s second phase, which focuses on expanding cooperation into new sectors such as industry, agricultural modernization, information technology, and science and technology. These initiatives are aimed at fostering socio-economic growth in Pakistan and ensuring benefits for both countries.

Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to the security of Chinese nationals and projects within the country, highlighting the strategic importance of safety measures in strengthening economic and diplomatic ties. The meeting also addressed the potential relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistan and strategies to enhance Chinese investment, marking a proactive approach to deepen economic integration.

Furthermore, the leaders agreed to maintain high-level exchanges and continue their robust cooperation across all bilateral areas. They also vowed to sustain close consultations at multilateral forums, emphasizing their collaborative stance on regional and global issues.
