Pakistan and China Strengthen Military Bonds, COAS Munir Hosts PLA Commander


Islamabad: In a significant meeting today at the General Headquarters, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir welcomed Commander of the People’s Liberation Army Ground Forces, General Li Qiaoming, reinforcing the deep military and strategic ties between Pakistan and China.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions covered a range of issues including regional security, military training, and ways to enhance bilateral defense cooperation. General Munir highlighted the strong relationship between the two armies as a cornerstone of the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China.



General Li expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism and extremism, praising the professionalism and dedication of the Pakistan Army. The COAS reciprocated the sentiments, affirming Pakistan’s commitment to its fraternal ties with China.



The visit began with General Li paying tribute at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada, where he laid a floral wreath and was honored with a guard of honor, symbolizing the respect and hospitality extended by the Pakistan Army.
