Pakistan and China Strengthen Economic Bonds During Prime Minister’s Visit

Islamabad, In a landmark visit aimed at bolstering the already robust ties between Pakistan and China, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, along with a high-level delegation, has embarked on a strategic trip to China. The visit included participation in the Shenzhen Pak-China Business Conference, where the Prime Minister and his team engaged with top Chinese business leaders to enhance economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a significant feature of the visit was a presentation by the newly appointed Secretary for Maritime Affairs, Mr. Zafar Ali Shah, on the Gwadar Free Economic Zone. During the conference, Mr. Shah emphasized the zone’s investment appeal, especially to Chinese investors, highlighting Gwadar’s potential as a major transshipment hub with advanced maritime and logistics infrastructure. He detailed the strategic advantages such as the zone’s proximity to key international shipping routes and its modern facilities, which are poised to transform Gwadar into a significant player in regional commerce.

Mr. Shah also outlined the numerous incentives for investors, including streamlined customs procedures and robust legal protections, aiming to attract investment in diverse sectors like manufacturing, logistics, and technology. The positive reception from Chinese companies indicates a keen interest in capitalizing on the opportunities presented by Gwadar, suggesting potential growth in investments.
