Islamabad, In a significant step to bolster business relations, Pakistan and China saw the signing of 32 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) during the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s visit to China.
According to Press Information Department, Federal Minister for Board of Investment Abdul Aleem Khan and Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan engaged in successful negotiations with CEOs from major Chinese companies. The talks were part of the Pak-China business forum, which attracted participation from 500 Chinese and 100 Pakistani companies. Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted the forum as a prime opportunity for the Pakistani business community to attract Chinese investments, which are expected to boost Pakistan’s exports and economic growth.
The discussions covered potential Chinese investments in Pakistan’s energy, infrastructure development, farming, engineering construction, and logistics sectors. Additionally, areas such as hotels, tourism, culture, sports goods, textiles, decoration industry, and airport designing were identified as future fields for investment. The engagement is seen as a catalyst for long-term business relationships and direct export opportunities for China to other countries. The ministers reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for Chinese businesses and emphasized the strategic importance of the bilateral ties.
