Pakistan and China Reaffirm Strategic Partnership in Bilateral Meeting

Islamabad, In a significant meeting today, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani welcomed the Vice Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Sun Weidong, at his office in Islamabad.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers engaged in an in-depth discussion on various aspects of the bilateral relationship, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and bilateral economic and financial cooperation. They reaffirmed the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two nations.

Foreign Minister Jilani expressed gratitude for Vice Foreign Minister Sun’s role in strengthening the Pakistan-China friendship and acknowledged China’s consistent support for Pakistan on various issues. Highlighting the progress of CPEC, Jilani emphasized its importance for Pakistan and appreciated China’s ongoing support for all CPEC projects in the country. He stressed Pakistan’s commitment to fully realizing CPEC’s potential for mutual benefit.

Vice Foreign Minister Sun, in response, expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s hospitality. He emphasized China’s view of Pakistan as an ‘iron brother’ and a reliable friend, underscoring the significant place Pakistan holds in China’s foreign policy. Sun also conveyed his anticipation for deeper cooperation across all fields between the two countries.
