Pakistan and China Reaffirm Mutual Support on Major Policies

ISLAMABAD, In a demonstration of deep-rooted ties, Pakistan and China have firmly promised to back each other on crucial matters. This includes China’s stance on the “One China” policy and issues concerning the South China Sea.

According to a new release by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this commitment was expressed during a meeting in Beijing on Monday between Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani and Wang Huning, the Chairman of the National Committee of the China’s People’s Political Consultative Conference. During their discussion, Sanjrani underscored the longstanding bond between the two nations, emphasizing that this relationship is foundational to Pakistan’s foreign policy and enjoys overwhelming public and institutional endorsement.

Reflecting on the increasing frequency of top-tier exchanges, Sanjrani expressed gratitude for China’s gesture of inviting the Pakistan Prime Minister to the forthcoming 3rd Belt and Road Forum. In addition, he praised the warm welcome his delegation received in China and congratulated Wang Huning on his new role within the China’s People’s Political Consultative Conference.

Acknowledging China’s pivotal role in bolstering Pakistan’s economic prospects and stability, Sanjrani underscored the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s (CPEC) strategic importance within the broader Belt and Road Initiative. He encouraged an influx of Chinese companies to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Emphasizing the need for continuous dialogue to fortify the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, Sanjrani shared his anticipation for President Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to Islamabad. The meeting concluded with Sanjrani extending an invitation to Wang Huning for a visit to Pakistan, which was warmly received.
