Pakistan and China Explore New Collaborations in Energy Sector


Xi An: Federal Minister of Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik, engaged in strategic discussions with YanChang Petroleum, one of China’s leading energy companies, on the sidelines of the 8th Silk Route Expo in China. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in energy exploration, refinery operations, and sustainable energy initiatives.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the visit highlighted both nations’ commitment to reinforcing their strategic partnerships in various facets of the energy sector, including oil and gas exploration, and the development of an integrated coal industrial complex. Dr. Malik was received by YanChang Petroleum’s senior leadership team, led by the Deputy Chief Manager, who provided detailed insights into the company’s ongoing projects and future strategies.



The conversations also covered the integration of renewable energy solutions and carbon capture technologies, indicating a mutual interest in innovative approaches to energy security and environmental sustainability. The discussions are expected to pave the way for potential joint ventures and collaborations that align with the shared goals of both countries in the energy domain.



Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Manager of YanChang Petroleum expressed optimism about the future of cooperation between Pakistan and China, highlighting the upcoming detailed discussions on technical and commercial aspects of various prospective projects.
