Pakistan and Canada Discuss Human Rights and Judicial Training

Islamabad, In a significant meeting today, Pakistan’s Minister for Law and Justice and Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, discussed various issues with the High Commissioner of Canada to Pakistan, Ms. Leslie Scanlon, focusing on human rights, minority policies, and Canadian support for judicial and police training.

According to Press Information Department, the talks at the Ministry of Law and Justice emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to protecting human rights and fostering national development. The Minister highlighted the constructive collaboration between government and opposition in advancing the nation’s democratic processes. Additionally, discussions covered the government’s proactive strategies for environmental sustainability, climate change mitigation, and promotion of eco-friendly practices.

Both parties acknowledged the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Canada, underlining the mutual benefits of their cooperation on critical issues such as human rights, social inclusion, and sustainable development, and agreed on the importance of continuing their collaborative efforts in these areas.
