Pakistan and Brunei Seek to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Islamabad, In a bid to enhance their diplomatic and economic ties, Pakistan and Brunei have reiterated the need to deepen their bilateral relationship, with a specific focus on trade, business, investment, and economic cooperation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the resolve to strengthen these ties was made during a meeting in Islamabad between the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam, Pengiran Haji Kamal Bashah bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad, and the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani. Chairman Sanjrani congratulated the High Commissioner on his new role and expressed optimism that his tenure would significantly benefit the relations between the two countries.

The meeting addressed the current regional situation and examined issues of mutual concern. Additionally, Chairman Sanjrani emphasized the deep-rooted trust between Pakistan and Brunei, particularly regarding their stance on Islamophobia, collaboration within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and a shared dedication to global peace.

Sanjrani took the opportunity to underline Pakistan’s potential for investment and called on business communities from both nations to explore these opportunities. Furthermore, he highlighted the human rights issues in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, urging the global community to engage more actively in resolving these conflicts.

The High Commissioner of Brunei expressed his eagerness to advance his country’s relationship with Pakistan and praised Pakistan’s contributions to regional stability.
