Pakistan and Bosnia & Herzegovina Commit to Strengthening Bilateral Trade and Economic Ties

Islamabad: A key meeting focused on bolstering trade and economic ties between Pakistan and Bosnia & Herzegovina was held at the National Assembly Secretariat, marking a significant step in enhancing bilateral relations. The session, attended by prominent members from both nations, including H.E. Mr. Emin Cohodarevic, the Bosnian Ambassador to Pakistan, was chaired by Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, the convener of the Pakistan-Bosnia & Herzegovina Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG).

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the meeting saw active participation from Pakistani MNAs such as Mr. Muhammad Shahryar Khan Mahar, Mr. Ahmed Saleem Siddiqui, Ms. Sofia Saeed Shah, and several others. They engaged in discussions aimed at deepening the ties between the two countries through various forms of cooperation.

During the session, representatives from Pakistan’s Foreign and Commerce Ministries presented an overview of the current state of relations between Pakistan and Bosnia & Herzegovina, highlighting ongoing trade, economic cooperation, and cultural exchanges. They also pointed out potential areas for further collaboration and growth.

Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan welcomed the Bosnian Ambassador and emphasized the importance of exploring new avenues for cooperation to strengthen the relationship between the two nations. In response, Ambassador Cohodarevic expressed his gratitude for Pakistan’s consistent support at the United Nations, particularly on issues vital to Bosnia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Ambassador Cohodarevic also highlighted the considerable opportunities for bilateral cooperation in various fields and stressed the importance of reactivating the Joint Economic Commission to enhance trade relations. The Parliamentary Friendship Group echoed the sentiment, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with Bosnia & Herzegovina and underscoring the need for regular interactions to sustain and build on the bilateral relations.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing a commitment to continue working collaboratively to strengthen their ties and explore new opportunities for cooperation, reflecting a mutual desire to bolster the Pakistan-Bosnia & Herzegovina partnership in various sectors.
