Minsk: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its strategic relationship with Belarus, focusing on enhancing parliamentary cooperation during a meeting with Belarusian counterpart Mr. Igor Sergeyenko. The talks, held in Minsk, underscored a mutual interest in expanding legal frameworks and supporting each other in international arenas.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sadiq highlighted the importance of the visit as a significant step in building upon the thirty-year diplomatic relationship between the two nations. He emphasized revising and updating bilateral agreements to facilitate closer ties and greater parliamentary interaction.
During the discussions, Sadiq reiterated Pakistan’s support for Belarus’s membership bids in international organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). He expressed Pakistan’s readiness to assist Belarus in joining various global platforms where Pakistan holds membership, emphasizing the potential benefits of mutual support.
Mr. Igor Sergeyenko, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belarus, expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s consistent support at international forums and acknowledged the visit of the Pakistani parliamentary delegation as a pivotal moment for bilateral relations.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their dedication to deepening cooperation and fostering a robust partnership in the coming years.
