Pakistan and Belarus Strengthen Air Force Collaboration

Islamabad: Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to bolster cooperation between their Air Forces, focusing on high-level exchange programs aimed at professional development. The agreement was made during a meeting between Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Major General Andrei Yulianovich Lukyanovich, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence of Belarus, held in Islamabad.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu assured full support for training pilots and maintenance crews from Belarus, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in training, technological development, and operational capabilities. Discussions highlighted mutual interests in air power and military cooperation, reinforcing the commitment to strengthen bilateral ties.

Major General Lukyanovich, who led a high-level defense delegation, was welcomed with a Guard of Honour at Air Headquarters. He expressed gratitude for the hospitality and showed keen interest in learning from Pakistan Air Force’s operational experience. He acknowledged PAF’s effectiveness in complex environments and expressed eagerness to learn from its combat-tested doctrines.

The Belarusian commander expressed a desire for structured training programs by PAF, marking a new chapter in collaboration. He invited Air Chief Marshal Sidhu to attend significant defense events in Belarus, aiming to expand the strategic dialogue and explore new avenues for cooperation.

This visit underscores the commitment of both nations to enhance their military partnership through ongoing dialogue and collaboration.
