Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today met with Belarusian Prime Minister Mr. Roman Golovchenko on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) Meeting in Islamabad, where they discussed enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation within the SCO framework.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting highlighted the recent admission of Belarus as a full member of the SCO and its implications for closer collaboration under the “Shanghai Spirit.” Recalling a previous meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of maintaining regular high-level contacts to boost ties in trade, investment, and agricultural sectors, including joint production of tractors. Mr. Golovchenko lauded the successful organization of the SCO CHG Meeting by Pakistan and expressed gratitude for the hospitality shown to his delegation. He affirmed Belarus’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan to advance the organization’s goals and strengthen bilateral relations in various areas of mutual interest.
