Dhaka: The Pakistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Pakistan-Bangladesh Joint Business Council. This initiative aims to foster economic cooperation and enhance bilateral trade ties between the two countries.
According to a statement by Press Information Department, the MoU was signed by Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of FPCCI, and Mr. Md. Hafizur Rahman, Administrator of FBCCI. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Syed Ahmed Maroof, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh.
The newly formed Joint Business Council will act as a platform for the exchange of trade and investment information. It will also organize business delegations and facilitate participation in trade exhibitions in both countries. Additionally, the council will oversee initiatives to promote economic cooperation and explore potential opportunities for mutual growth.
High Commissioner Syed Ahmed Maroof expressed optimism about the council’s role in facilitating businesses on both sides, encouraging collaboration, and strengthening Pakistan-Bangladesh bilateral trade relations.
