Pakistan and Azerbaijan Forge New Paths in Youth Collaboration


Islamabad: In a pivotal meeting on August 27, 2024, His Excellency Khazar Farhadov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, met with Mr. Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, to discuss expanding cooperation in education, culture, and sports.



According to Press Information Department, the discussions, held at the Chairman’s office in Islamabad, explored innovative ways to engage and empower the youth of both nations. The meeting, also attended by Member National Assembly Miss Syeda Amna Batool and other officials, underscored a mutual commitment to leveraging youth-centric initiatives for bilateral benefit.



Chairman Khan detailed the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme’s initiatives aimed at skill enhancement, technical education, and international competitiveness. In response, Ambassador Farhadov emphasized the strategic importance of youth development in securing a prosperous future for both countries and expressed Azerbaijan’s eagerness to collaborate in these areas.



A major focal point of the dialogue was the potential synergy between Pakistan’s National Volunteer Corps and Azerbaijan’s Volunteer Network, aiming to establish a framework for cross-border volunteer exchanges. This initiative intends to cultivate a deeper understanding and cooperation among the youth, fostering community development and cultural exchange.



Furthermore, both parties discussed establishing dual diploma courses that would be recognized in both countries, enhancing educational and career opportunities for students and strengthening cultural ties. Chairman Khan also extended an invitation to Azerbaijani Ministers of Youth, Sports, and Culture to visit Pakistan, which would further solidify the growing partnership.



The meeting concluded with affirmations of an optimistic future for collaborative efforts, particularly in empowering the youth, who are seen as crucial architects of tomorrow’s innovations and bilateral relations.
