Islamabad: Discussions between Pakistan and Azerbaijan have set the stage for a potential $2 billion investment aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in mutually beneficial projects.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that both countries are exploring significant investments, particularly in energy, infrastructure, and defense, during a joint press stake-out in Islamabad. The Prime Minister highlighted the discussions will continue with the aim of finalizing an agreement during his forthcoming visit to Azerbaijan.
He also emphasized the political solidarity between the two nations, with mutual support on issues like Nagorno-Karabakh and Kashmir. Looking ahead, the leaders expressed optimism about increasing bilateral trade and investment, and further collaboration in areas such as climate change, ahead of Azerbaijan hosting COP29 in Baku. Additionally, both sides agreed to increase direct flights, facilitating greater connectivity and economic exchange.
