Pakistan and Australia Pledge to Enhance Defense Ties.

Rawalpindi: Chief of the Australian Army Lieutenant General Simon Stuart met with Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir in Rawalpindi on Monday. During their meeting, discussions were held on various topics concerning both nations, particularly focusing on the global and regional security environment.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Syed Asim Munir expressed Pakistan’s appreciation for the relationship with Australia, emphasizing the importance of strong bilateral ties to promote common goals of peace and stability. Both leaders reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation in defense and security, acknowledging the significance of ongoing collaboration for regional and global peace.

Lieutenant General Stuart praised Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism and expressed his determination to deepen bilateral defense and security cooperation between the two countries. As part of his visit, upon arrival at the General Headquarters (GHQ), the Chief of the Australian Army laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honor Pakistan’s martyrs. He received a warm reception, with a smartly dressed contingent of the Pakistan Army presenting a guard of honor.
