Islamabad: Activists from political parties, religious groups, government officials, and members of human rights and civil society organizations are gathering in rallies across Pakistan and Azad Kashmir today to show solidarity with the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, a significant rally is set to take place at Constitution Avenue in Islamabad, with attendance from federal ministers, lawmakers, and Kashmiri leaders. Pakistani embassies and consulates worldwide are organizing seminars, rallies, and exhibitions to highlight India’s human rights violations in the region.
A media campaign has been initiated, with PTV, Radio Pakistan, and private news channels broadcasting special programs on Kashmir. Banners expressing solidarity with Kashmiris are displayed at metro stations, airports, and major roads throughout Pakistan. Educational institutions are engaging students in the Kashmir cause through debates and essay competitions.
Human chains will be formed across the seven bridges connecting Azad Kashmir with Pakistan, symbolizing unity and support.
The day serves to reinforce Pakistan’s steadfast support for the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their pursuit of self-determination. For nearly eight decades, Pakistan has advocated for the oppressed Kashmiris, underscoring its commitment to their cause. Annually, on February 5, Pakistan observes Kashmir Solidarity Day to bring attention to the plight of Kashmiris and remind the international community of its responsibilities in resolving the Kashmir dispute.
Pakistan views supporting the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a national duty and has pledged to continue advocating for their rights. The day also highlights the Kashmir dispute as an unresolved issue stemming from the Partition Plan, with Pakistan seeing its resolution as vital to fulfilling the objectives of the Pakistan Movement.
