Pakistan Amplifies Focus on Education and Technology, Info Minister Announces

Islamabad, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar detailed the government’s intensified focus on the education sector, particularly in information technology, to harness the potential of the country’s youth.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, speaking at an education expo in Islamabad today, Tarar highlighted significant increases in the education budget. He emphasized enhancements in IT infrastructure within schools and support for tech startups. The minister outlined the government’s commitment to the youth, citing initiatives like the distribution of free laptops and merit scholarships as evidence of its efforts to foster an educated and technologically adept generation.

Additionally, Tarar mentioned a new framework agreement with a Chinese tech company, secured during the Prime Minister’s recent visit to China, which is set to provide IT training to two hundred thousand Pakistani youths annually. He also noted improvements in the country’s economic indicators, a decrease in inflation rates, and a strengthening of foreign exchange reserves, signaling a positive trajectory for Pakistan’s economy.
