Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education Honoured by US Library of Congress

Islamabad, The Library of Congress USA has lauded the Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) as Successful Practices Honourees in its 2023 Literacy Awards Program. PAGE, an organization established in 2014, champions gender equity in education, employment, rights, and leadership in Pakistan, focusing on empowering Pakistani girls with educational and leadership opportunities. Ambassador Masood Khan congratulated Fajer Pasha, Executive Director of PAGE, for this acknowledgment and commended the organization’s outstanding contributions to enhancing literacy in Pakistan.

According to a news release by Press Information Department, Ms. Pasha expressed gratitude for the honour and highlighted PAGE’s recognition by global bodies, such as UNESCO and the Government of China. Ambassador Khan stressed the priority the Government of Pakistan places on education, especially for girls, and encouraged Ms. Pasha to promote educational prospects for Pakistani girls in the US. Acknowledging the US government’s support for Pakistan’s educational sector, Khan mentioned the increase in the number of Pakistani students pursuing education in the US and expressed hopes of furthering this growth. He extended his best wishes to PAGE and promised unwavering support.
