Pakistan Air Force to Aid Zimbabwe in Air Force Modernization

Islamabad: A high-level delegation led by Air Marshal John Jacob Nzvede from Zimbabwe met with Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu in Islamabad to discuss the modernization of Zimbabwe’s air force.

During the meeting, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu confirmed Pakistan Air Force’s commitment to assist the Air Force of Zimbabwe in enhancing its human resources, maintenance standards, and operational training. He emphasized the enduring military relationship between the two nations, underscoring their shared views on regional peace and security.

Air Marshal Nzvede expressed a strong interest in overhauling Zimbabwe’s air force training framework, seeking comprehensive support from the Pakistan Air Force. He highlighted the global recognition of PAF’s training standards and requested the training of Zimbabwean cadets at Pakistan’s PAF Academy Asghar Khan.

In addition, Zimbabwe requested the deployment of PAF pilots, engineers, and technical staff to aid in its air force’s modernization efforts. The talks also covered the acquisition and timely delivery of 12 Super Mushak trainer aircraft to enhance Zimbabwe’s training capabilities.

Upon arrival, Air Marshal Nzvede was honored with a Guard of Honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Air Force, showcasing the cordial relations between the two military forces.
