Islamabad: In a significant diplomatic gathering, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch welcomed 14 envoys from the African continent at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing relations under its Engage Africa Policy. The meeting featured a special tree plantation ceremony, symbolizing the growing friendship between Pakistan and Africa.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event not only celebrated the ties between Pakistan and Africa but also provided a platform for the envoys to discuss their priorities and the salient aspects of their bilateral relations with Pakistan. Foreign Secretary Baloch highlighted the positive trajectory of these relationships, noting a 75% increase in trade over the past four years with potential for further growth. She emphasized Pakistan’s desire to expand cooperation in trade, investment, and high-level political ties.
The ceremony included remarks from Ambassador Mohammad Karmoune of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps, who expressed gratitude for the discussions and the unique tree planting event, which they described as unprecedented.
