ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is actively seeking to enhance its economic relationship with Saudi Arabia, aiming for a partnership that benefits both nations, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced during a meeting with a high-level Saudi business delegation in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting included discussions between Prime Minister Sharif and Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, the Chairman of the Saudi-Pak Joint Business Council. The Prime Minister expressed his enthusiasm for Saudi investments in various sectors, highlighting agriculture and food security as priority areas for potential collaboration. He referenced a previous visit by Prince Mansour and the Saudi delegation in October 2025, expressing hope that the current talks would lead to the signing of memorandums of understanding and agreements across multiple fields.

Prime Minister Sharif also conveyed his regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Prince Mansour, in response, expressed gratitude for the hospitality received and affirmed Saudi Arabia’s interest in increasing business-to-business interactions with Pakistan. The Saudi delegation expressed interest in investing in projects related to infrastructure, energy, and technology.

The delegation’s visit aims to solidify partnerships with both governmental and private sector entities in Pakistan, aligning with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s vision for increased Saudi investments in the region.
