Karachi, In the face of ongoing tension over the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) territory, Wajahat Rashid Baig, Secretary of Kashmir Cause Arts and Languages, vowed to expose and bring attention to the human rights abuses being carried out by Indian troops. The commitment involves leveraging various resources to illuminate these concerns at both local and global stages.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, Baig shared his views during a visit to the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter office located in Islamabad. The meeting saw the presence of prominent figures like APHC-AJK Convener Mehmood Ahmad Sagar, senior Hurriyat leader Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Secretary General Sheikh Abdul Mateen, and Information Secretary Imtiaz Wani, among others.
During the discussion, Baig emphasized that a cohesive strategy, developed in collaboration with APHC, will be put in place to focus on the alleged human rights breaches in the occupied Kashmir region.
In a subsequent visit to the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell in Rawalpindi, Baig elaborated on the multifaceted approach being implemented to enhance the performance of the Liberation Cell. This strategy includes the creation and distribution of research-backed materials and documents underscoring the reported brutalities in occupied Kashmir. He further highlighted the ongoing efforts to keep the global community updated on the current state of the occupied region via social media and the Liberation Cell’s official website.
Emphasizing the need to engage the younger generation, Baig mentioned that the Liberation Cell is planning to arrange lectures at educational establishments, such as universities and colleges. Furthermore, as part of their awareness initiative, they aim to conduct a series of seminars and conferences.
