Pakistan Aims to Deepen Economic Ties with China, Says Prime Minister


Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has outlined Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with China, focusing on agriculture, information technology, and energy sectors. In a meeting held today in Islamabad, the Prime Minister discussed initiatives aimed at boosting exports to China and inviting Chinese investment in Pakistan.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a discussion on increasing cooperation with China across various fields. He promised full support to Chinese industrialists and investors interested in setting up operations in Pakistan, especially encouraging the Chinese textile industry to establish factories in the country.



The Prime Minister also assured that Chinese nationals would receive comprehensive security within Pakistan. He highlighted the ongoing preparations for the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), mentioning the development of Gwadar port into a logistics hub and the establishment of Agriculture Demonstration Zones as key projects.



Shehbaz Sharif directed concerned ministries to prepare new projects to further Pakistan-China cooperation and to enhance business-to-business ties. He emphasized China’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s economic strategy and its potential to help increase Pakistani exports.
