Pakistan Agricultural Research Council Denies Allegations of Impropriety in Hiring Process

Islamabad: The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) has firmly denied allegations concerning its recent recruitment process, dismissing the claims as unfounded and misleading.

PARC, a national-level agricultural research institution, has been instrumental in advancing agricultural research, boosting production, and fostering modern technology across various sectors in Pakistan. The council’s scientists have contributed significantly to research in crops, livestock, agricultural machinery, and natural resources.

According to a statement from PARC, the hiring process adhered strictly to legal protocols, ensuring that selections were made based on merit. The process saw the recruitment of highly qualified scientists from over 71 districts, including regions such as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The newly appointed professionals are noted for their expertise in modern agricultural research, with many holding gold medals and top academic positions.

Under the leadership of Chairman Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali, PARC has implemented several initiatives to modernize Pakistan’s agriculture sector. These efforts have culminated in securing international research grants exceeding Rs 10 billion, marking a significant milestone for both the institution and the nation. Dr. Ali’s contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Sitara-e-Imtiaz and the South Korean Presidential Award for Science and Technology.

PARC attributes the recent allegations to former employees dismissed for corruption and disciplinary violations. The council contends that these individuals are now attempting to tarnish its reputation for personal gain. PARC has called upon relevant authorities to take legal action against those spreading false information.

The council has extended an invitation to institutions, authorities, and media representatives to visit its facilities for a firsthand understanding of its operations and ongoing projects. PARC remains committed to its mission of advancing Pakistan’s agriculture sector through transparent and professional research practices, undeterred by rumors and negative campaigns.
