Islamabad: Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting peaceful resolutions for the Ukraine conflict. Speaking at a United Nations Security Council meeting on Ukraine, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi, emphasized Pakistan’s belief that military intervention is not the answer.
Fatemi urged all involved parties to exercise restraint, adhere to international humanitarian law, and actively work towards de-escalation. He commended recent political dialogues, including direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine facilitated by the US President. He expressed optimism for a swift end to the dispute and voiced Pakistan’s hope for successful outcomes from these diplomatic interactions.
