Islamabad, In light of the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Pakistan has announced its plan to promptly send humanitarian relief aid to the region in an effort to mitigate the hardships faced by Palestinians. This decision was revealed by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Munir Akram, while addressing a topic concerning “The rule of law at the national and international levels” at the United Nations. He clarified that coordination efforts are currently underway with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, pertinent UN bodies, and the Egyptian Government.
The Ambassador further supported the proposition for the establishment of humanitarian passageways to guarantee the safe delivery of essentials such as food, water, medicine, and fuel to the Palestinians. Munir Akram expressed his dismay over the Security Council’s inability to advocate for a ceasefire, attributing the failure to opposition against a resolution proposed by the Russian Federation. He firmly denounced Israel’s attack on Al-Ahley Al-Mamadany Hospital and recognized the Palestinians’ right to self-determination.
