Islamabad: A delegation from the Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS) visited the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) to gain insights into its role, structure, and impact on the nation’s markets and economy. This visit is part of the 2nd Specialized Training Course (STC) aimed at enhancing the administrative capabilities of PAS officers.
According to Competition Commission of Pakistan, the visit included detailed presentations and discussions with senior CCP officials. Ms. Kishwar Khan, Director General of Research, and Mr. Shahzad Hussain, Registrar of the CCP, were present, with Mr. Fahd Gauhar, Joint Director, leading a session on the Competition Act of 2010. This act forms the basis of CCP’s efforts to ensure fair competition and regulate anti-competitive practices within Pakistan.
The officers were briefed on the administrative frameworks and strategic functions of the CCP, emphasizing its critical role in shaping economic policies and promoting a competitive marketplace. Muhammad Bilal Akram, Additional Director of the Civil Service Academy, thanked the CCP for providing an educational experience that broadened the understanding of the delegates regarding regulatory practices.
The visit concluded with a question-and-answer session, allowing the PAS officers to clarify their understanding of the CCP’s operations and objectives, further cementing the session’s role in their professional training.
