Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed approval of Hamas’ response to the peace plan unveiled by President Donald Trump, highlighting it as a significant opportunity to achieve a ceasefire and address the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad released a statement emphasizing the need for an immediate halt to hostilities, the cessation of bloodshed involving Palestinian civilians, and the release of hostages and Palestinian prisoners. The statement also called for unobstructed humanitarian aid to Gaza and the initiation of a viable political dialogue aimed at lasting peace.
The statement urged Israel to immediately stop its military actions. It also acknowledged President Trump’s efforts to forge peace in the region, expressing hope that these measures would lead to a durable ceasefire and a comprehensive peace agreement.
Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their quest for self-determination. The statement underscored Pakistan’s commitment to the establishment of a sovereign State of Palestine, with borders defined by the pre-1967 lines and Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in line with international agreements and UN resolutions.
