Pakistan Accuses India of War Crimes in Kashmir, Seeks International Intervention

Islamabad: Pakistan has formally accused India of committing war crimes and genocide in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), calling for international attention and intervention in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service announcement issued on 16 August 2024, during a weekly press briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch condemned the recent killing of four Kashmiris by Indian troops in Doda district. Baloch reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination in line with UN Security Council resolutions, emphasizing the need for a just and peaceful resolution to the dispute.

Baloch also highlighted broader regional tensions, criticizing Israel for its actions in Gaza and its recent assaults on worshipers, labeling these as violations of the Geneva Convention. She called for Israel to be held accountable for the alleged massacre of 40,000 people in Gaza.

Additionally, Baloch addressed concerns regarding the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, urging Afghan authorities to take decisive action against these groups to curb terrorism in Pakistan. She also cautioned foreign governments against meddling in Pakistan’s internal affairs, stressing that external comments on Pakistan’s domestic issues were unwelcome.
