Islamabad: The Pak-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Group has pledged to enhance bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, focusing on inter-parliamentary exchanges and fostering mutual understanding. This commitment was made during a meeting at the Parliament House in Islamabad, chaired by Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, the Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and Convener of the Group.
During the meeting, the Group emphasized the significance of inter-parliamentary cooperation, underscoring its role as a vital channel for enhancing people-to-people connections and promoting both parliamentary and institutional exchanges.
Minister Yousaf extended a warm welcome to the visiting Saudi Parliamentary delegation, reiterating Pakistan’s high regard for Saudi Arabia. He praised Saudi Vision 2030 as a progressive model that blends faith, tradition, and innovation.
From the Saudi side, the meeting was chaired by Eng. Khaled Abdullah Al Buraik, who advocated for regular parliamentary exchanges to strengthen institutional ties and expand bilateral cooperation. He highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to deepening collaboration with Pakistan in areas such as defense, regional stability, trade, investment, technology, renewable energy, and parliamentary interactions.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing a mutual desire to see concrete steps taken to facilitate these exchanges, aiming to reinforce the strong historical and cultural ties shared by the two nations.
