Pak-Iran cooperation critical to regional economic growth and stability: Mohsin Dawar – Press Note issued by National Assembly of Pakistan

Islamabad, October 24, 2022 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Mohsin Dawar and Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan Syed Muhammad Ali Hussaini exchanged views on deepening Pak-Iran relations and making joint efforts to uplift regional economic growth, promote trade, contain conflicts and address humanitarian crisis across the region.

Mohsin Dawar stressed that synergies between Pakistan and Iran were critical to the regional stability and sustained economic growth. Iran’s ambassador Syed Muhammad Ali Hussaini remarked that Pakistan-Iran ties were deep-rooted in shared culture, geography, history and challenges.

The meeting took place at Parliament House, Islamabad and matters pertaining to evolving situation in the region particularly Afghanistan, regional instability and potential for cooperation to accelerate regional economic growth came under discussion. Both sides reaffirmed commitment to strengthen people-to-people relations and underlined the need to exchange parliamentary delegations as a tool to cement bilateral relations amidst the dynamic regional and global challenges.
