Pak-China Relations Strengthened as Beijing Backs Islamabad’s Sovereignty

Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong has affirmed China’s full support for Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as boosting its economic and social development. Speaking at a recent ceremony, the Ambassador highlighted the rapid progress in Pakistan-China relations, emphasizing Beijing’s readiness to align its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with Islamabad’s Development Plan.

Ambassador Jiang pointed out that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a key component of the BRI, is generating employment opportunities and attracting significant investment. He noted that CPEC has already seen $25.4 billion in direct investment.

The Chinese Envoy also remarked on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s successful visit to China, where he met with President Xi Jinping. The visit underscored the importance both countries place on their bilateral relations.

Ambassador Jiang conveyed President Xi’s commitment to fostering friendly and cooperative relations with neighboring countries, emphasizing this as a core principle of China’s diplomatic policy.
