Pak-Africa Trade Initiatives Unveiled in Meeting with Commerce Minister

Islamabad: A delegation led by Muhammad Rafique Memon, Chairman of the Southern Africa Trade Federation, met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, to discuss strategies for strengthening trade relations between Pakistan and Southern African nations.

During the meeting, Memon announced the upcoming Pak-Africa Trade Affair, a prominent trade exhibition set to take place in Islamabad. The event, hosted by the South African government, will highlight business opportunities in sectors such as tourism, agriculture, services, and defense.

Furthermore, Memon revealed plans for a three-day seminar scheduled from May 24 to 26, which will include the participation of three ministers from South Africa. An invitation was extended to Minister Khan to attend the seminar, signaling a move towards deeper collaboration.

Memon sought government support for these initiatives, stressing the importance of cooperative efforts to enhance bilateral trade. Minister Khan, in response, suggested that the Federation engage with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to explore potential partnerships.
