Islamabad, In a significant move to enhance bilateral trade, the Pak-Afghan border management committee has agreed to expedite the daily crossover of 900 trucks at the Custom Station Torkhem. This decision was made to address the prolonged delays and queues of goods-laden vehicles awaiting clearance at the border.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the agreement came during a meeting chaired by Additional Collector Customs Muhammad Rizwan. The committee acknowledged the slow clearance process at the border, which has been causing financial losses to the business communities of both Pakistan and Afghanistan.
This initiative is expected to streamline the border crossing process, thereby facilitating smoother trade between the two neighbouring countries.
