PAGD reiterates judicial probe demand into Hyderpora fake encounter

Srinagar, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), has rejected the police claims as “concocted cover up story” and reiterated demand for credible judicial probe into the Hyderpora fake encounter.

The PAGD in a statement said today’s press briefing of Indian police about the Hyderpora tragic incident is only a repetition of old story adding that it does not even, slightly give any objective picture of this shocking incident. The PAGD spokesman, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami in the statement said that there was a strong public perception that the civilians killed in the incident were made human shields by the Indian forces and the latest statement of the police seems to be an concocted cover up story.

It will not suffice the legitimate concerns of the people at large and family of the slain victims, he said. “The PAGD firmly believes that nothing short of a credible judicial probe will clear the doubts. The administration must, without any further delay, order a time bound judicial probe,” he added.

Pertinently, Indian police had claimed that a foreign militant, his associate Aamir Ahmad Magray of Ramban, over-ground worker of a mujahid organization Dr Mudasir Gul and building owner Altaf Ahmed Butt were killed in the encounter in Hyderpora area of Srinagar. The police had secretly buried all of them in a graveyard in a remote village in the Handwara area of Kupwara district in North Kashmir.

However, families of Dr Mudasir Gul, Altaf Ahmad Butt, and Amir Magrey contested the police claim. Later, the bodies of two Srinagar residents -Muhammad Altaf Butt and Dr Mudasir Gul – were exhumed from the graveyard and handed over to their families following widespread outrage and sit-in protest held by the grieving families in Srinagar. Three days after the fake encounter, the authorities had ordered magisterial inquiry by additional district magistrate.
