Islamabad, The 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors of the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) was chaired by the Caretaker Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Muhammad Sami Saeed. The meeting, focused on enhancing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives, underscored the importance of sustainable economic growth and governance.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting, attended by key figures such as Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Dr. Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, Secretary Planning Ministry Awais Manzur Sumra, and Additional Secretary Finance Division Amjad Mahmood, along with private board members, discussed a range of topics central to the advancement of PPPs. The board concentrated on refining the framework for project preparation, appraisal, and development, aligning with international standards of transparency and efficiency. The Environmental and Social Management Systems were recognized as crucial for ensuring sustainability and social responsibility in PPP projects.
The meeting highlighted the importance of rigorous project criteria and regulations to improve project selection processes. Internal organizational matters were also addressed to enhance the functioning of P3A and promote public-private collaboration effectively. The Planning Minister lauded the CEO of P3A, Mr. Malik Ahmad Khan, and his team for their commitment to implementing innovative PPP initiatives, contributing significantly to the country’s sustainable development and economic growth.
