Over 200 Sikh Yatrees arrive in Pakistan to participate in Jod Mela

Lahore, June 08, 2023 (PPI-OT): More than two hundred Indian Sikh pilgrims have reached Pakistan through the Wagah border to participate in their religious festival, Jod Mela. The pilgrims who came to Pakistan under the leadership of Sardar Gurbachan Singh and Sardar Jhang Singh to participate in the celebrations of Guru Arjun Devji were welcomed by Additional Secretary of Shrines Rana Shahid Saleem on behalf of the Evacuee Trust Property Board.

On this occasion, the President of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC), Sardar Amir Singh and the members of the committee were also present. Rana Shahid Saleem while talking to the media said the protection of life and property of Sikh pilgrims is our first priority. He said Indian Sikh pilgrims will be sent directly to Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal in the form of caravans through special buses. He said that in the light of the instructions of the Chairman Board, the Sikh guests will be provided free food, accommodation, security and transport facilities.

Sardar Gurbachan Singh said that it was a great pleasure to reach Pakistan, the arrangements made by Pakistan to welcome us are satisfactory. Sardar Amir Singh along with his colleagues presented the langar of Guru to the Indian Sikh pilgrims after immigration and customs requirements.
