Lahore, August 20, 2022 (PPI-OT):On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar, relief activities of Punjab Police are going on in full force to protect the lives and property of the citizens affected by the flood situation in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.
Spokesperson Punjab Police said that more than 1100 police personnel are engaged in relief activities in the flood-affected areas of DG Khan Region and so far more than 4700 people trapped in the flood water have been shifted to safe places by the police. Spokesperson Punjab Police said that during the relief activities, the police rescued more than 1700 cattle of local citizens and brought them to safe places.
According to the details, RPO DG Khan Muhammad Saleem said that 17 relief camps of Punjab Police have been established to help flood victims on the special instructions of IG Punjab and 22 police boats teams are also engaged in relief operations.
RPO DG Khan Muhammad Saleem said that the police control room is active in DG Khan for timely help of flood affected citizens and situation is being monitored moment by moment. RPO DG Khan Muhammad Salim said that all the police transports are being used for transfer of victims, while fool proof security arrangements have been made for families in relief camps and police are doing all possible efforts to help citizens in difficult times.
IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar ordered the RPOs and DPOs including Additional IG South Punjab to monitor the situation personally and said that the supervisory officers should remain in the field during the relief activities and coordinate with the district administration, rescue and other departments. IG Punjab stressed upon police force to play full role in relief activities.
