Jammu, March 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Modi-led Bharatiya Janata regime has been strongly criticized by the opposition parties for its total failure in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and India itself. Senior Congress leader and former IIOJK Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand while addressing the Congress workers at Khour in Jammu said the BJP government in New Delhi has not done any work in the public interest in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The double engine government of the BJP has harassed every section of society and has not done anything itself but has been appearing in advertisements claiming the works of the Congress Party as its own.” He said that the ruling party had failed to inspire millions of the people in the territory. There is zero focus on development, the infrastructure is dying out and people are being denied basic civil amenities like power and water, he added.
He gave a clarion call to people of J and K and India to root out the BJP government which according to him is weakening the rural economy and hereditary trades and playing havoc with the farm sector, only to hand over agricultural sector to the Corporate sector.
Communist Party of India-Marxist leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said that BJP govt’s claims of massive development in Jammu and Kashmir are far from the actual ground situation. Addressing a party convention in Jammu, Tarigami said that people of the territory are dismayed over the performance of the BJP government as nothing on ground has been changed and people continue to face unemployment, price rise, shortage of essential commodities and power cuts.
Through the scrapping of constitutional rights, downgrading and bifurcating a historic state into two union territories, not only has the BJP government undermined the basic structure of the constitution but the relationship between Jammu and Kashmir and India itself, he added. And the only way to put it back on track is by immediately restoring the constitutional rights and statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. This unconstitutional and undemocratic decision has created a big political void and deep uncertainty in the region.
