Opposition has no democratic credentials: Fawad

Islamabad, October 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says that the opposition has no democratic credentials and it is only looking for a deal. Talking to the media after inaugurating Solo Calligraphy Exhibition in Islamabad on Monday, he said the opposition has no political, administrative or the economic policy and is only finding a lame excuse to protest. He said the opposition should come with a solution if it has to deal with the inflation and other problems confronting Pakistan.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said floor prices reduced today, while rates of sugar are also likely to come down as a result of bumper sugarcane crop this year. He said the government is providing subsidy on ghee, wheat, electricity, and other essential items, but it should be kept in view that the entire country cannot be run on subsidy. He said the PTI Government has paid back a debt of 10 billion dollars last year and this year it has to retire a loan of 12 billion dollars.

He questioned how a country can give subsidy on all things if it has to payback foreign loans. He urged the private sector to raise salaries of their employees. Answering a question regarding appointment of ISI Chief, the Minister said everything has settled in that respect and the opposition should refrain from maligning institutions.
