Lahore, February 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):Vice Chairperson OPC Punjab Dr. Shahid Mahmood directed the OPC officers to achieve the target of resolving 2,000 cases in the next three months. He directed that the District DOPC chairpersons should be given targets for resolving the cases so that the overseas Pakistanis could avail the timely relief. He clarified that District visits would also be made to make the District Overseas Pakistanis Committees more active.
These decisions were taken at a meeting with OPC Officers chaired by him at the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab here today. The meeting was also attended by Director General OPC Ishrat ullah Khan Niazi, Director Police Imtiaz Ahmed Ali, Director Admin Tanveer Majid, Director Legal Raja Zubair, Deputy Directors and other dealing officers.
While giving briefing in the meeting, Commissioner OPC Syed Khadim Abbas said that out of 28495 complaints lodged so far on the OPC web portal, 17986 have been resolved and immediate steps are being taken to address the remaining grievances. On which Vice Chairman Dr. Shahid Mehmood said that Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar is attaching great importance to the solution of problems of Pakistanis living abroad.
He clarified that the performance of Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab at the provincial level is related to the immediate solution of the problems of overseas Pakistanis. Important decisions were also taken in the meeting to ensure speedy resolution of the problems faced by the Overseas Pakistanis and to further improve the performance of OPC Punjab.
The Vice Chairperson said that the list of chairpersons of District Overseas Pakistanis Committees participating in the Overseas Pakistani Convention to be held from March 13 to 16 in Islamabad should be presented and they should be informed about the Overseas Convention. He asked the dealing officers to present with suggestions for resolving the overseas issues.
