Op Shaw barred from holding Kashmir seminar in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities disallowed the Chairman of Centre for Peace and Progress to hold a one-day seminar in Srinagar. The seminar- titled ‘The Way Out’ was scheduled to be held on Sunday (August 01) by ‘Centre for Peace and Progress’ Chairman, OP Shaw.

The track-II diplomat and renowned civil society member OP Shaw told media that he was informed by the authorities that he is not allowed to hold the one-day seminar at Nigeen Club in Srinagar. “I was staying in a hotel at Boulevard Srinagar where a team from the government arrived and informed me that I am not permitted to hold the seminar. I left Srinagar and is back to Delhi,” he said.

OP Shaw said besides civil society members, lawyers and doctors, political leaders including Dr Farooq Abdullah, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami, Nizamddin Bhat, Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Muzaffar Shah had accepted his invitation and were scheduled to take part in the seminar. “It is very unfortunate that a seminar that was supposed to be held inside a hall was not allowed to happen,” he added.
