Only one room for 50 students in a Baramulla primary school

Srinagar, June 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Government Primary School, Binner, a village of Baramulla district, displays a grim picture of the education sector, as the school has just one classroom for more than 50 students.

Local people told the media that only two rooms were available in the school, one had been designated for mid-day meals kitchen purposes at the school while the other was free to accommodate over 50 students from 1st to 5th standard.

The locals claimed that they had informed the authorities concerned but nothing had happened on the ground, so far. “The school lacks a lot of infrastructure and accommodation,” Abdul Majeed, a local said. Muhammad Yousuf, another local, said that there were about 50 students in two rooms and kitchen work is also being done in one of the rooms.

“We appeal to the district administration of Baramulla to look into the problems and direct the authorities concerned to get the issue redressed at the earliest,” he said. An official at the Chief Education Office, Baramulla, said that the issue of space shortage would soon be addressed.
