Srinagar: A man died and another was injured after the vehicle they were traveling in collided with a tanker in the Sonamarg area of the Ganderbal district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Tuesday morning, a local official reported.
According to Kashmir Media Service, an official revealed that the car was on its way to Kargil when it collided with the tanker near a truck yard in Sonamarg. The two individuals traveling in the car were injured in the collision and were subsequently shifted to PHC Sonamarg. Upon arrival, the driver was pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Raza Hibatullah, son of Mohammad Hadi of Kargil, while the injured passenger has been identified as Zakir Hussain Hibatullah, also son of Mohammad Hadi of Kargil.
Meanwhile, a separate incident resulted in the death of a man who succumbed to his injuries after being involved in a road accident near Noora Hospital in Srinagar last night, officials said.
