Lahore, September 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): On the instructions of the Inspector General of Police Punjab, the police teams in the entire province including Lahore are working day and night to eradicate crimes. In all districts, the crackdown is ongoing against criminal elements, advertising suspects, drug dealers as a result of this year. Thousands of accused have been arrested. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that during the current year, 88736 wanted criminals were arrested in various crimes in the province, including 12651 of A category and 76085 of B category.
The spokesman of the Punjab Police further said that intelligence-based operations are ongoing across the province to eliminate the scourge of drugs. 21,516 cases were registered against drug dealers across the province including Lahore, and 20,436 drug dealers, dealers and smugglers were arrested while their possession was seized. 19631 kg of hashish, 864 kg of opium, 562 kg of heroin, 65 kg of ice, 3055 kg of hemp and 67 kg of other drugs. 584 million was recovered in robberies across the province, including Lahore, while goods and cash worth 1414 million were recovered in Rabri, 1242 stolen vehicles and 17921 motorcycles were recovered in crimes. 71 cases of kidnapping for ransom were registered and 127 accused were arrested while 77 hostages were recovered, 447 accused were arrested in 456 cases of blind murder.
